a day of silent meditation retreat

Sunday, November 5th

I went everywhere with longing

in my eyes, until here

in my own house

I felt truth

filling my sight.

Join us

I warmly welcome you to join us for this day of silent zazen meditation. An exquisite opportunity to be present in the stillness of our being in communion with others.

We will begin the day with an introduction to our form with meditation instructions followed by a brief check-in by each participant. We will drop into silence for the rest of the day alternating 30 minute zazen sitting meditation and 10 minute kinhin walking meditation. A dharma talk will be offered mid morning along with a brief break for a snack. We will break for an extended lunch. We will conclude the day with a closing check-in. The retreat begins at 8:30 a .m. and will finish up at 3:30 p.m..

If this is your first full day meditation retreat I would suggest a daily sitting practice and as the day approaches taking time to sit a couple of times a day to prepare your body and mind for this event. If you are new to meditation I welcome you to join us on Wednesday evenings at The Peace Gallery beginning at 6 p.m..
