Join us for our Sunday Sangha practice.

We are a sacred order bringing into being a harmonious and loving world, through the practice of meditative, compassionate awareness and mindful stewardship.

Our weekly Sunday Sangha practice begins at 9:30 a.m..

Our Agenda:

Brief check in

Morning Service on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month

Zazen Meditation: 30-45 minutes

Dharma Talk on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month

Brief check in

Our service typically lasts about 75 minutes.

Followed by fellowship over a cup of tea.

We gather at 25 Reny Road (off of Biscay Road) in Damariscotta, on Biscay Orchards. As you come up the driveway follow it to the right where we meet in the cottage.

Please wear comfortable solid dark clothing to minimize distractions. We ask that you silence your phones for our service.

Please let Jizai know if you plan to attend so he can set out a cushion for you.

Dana/Generosity

Please consider supporting our sangha. Your generous contributions help support: the upkeep of our sacred objects utilized during our service, offsetting the costs of sending Jizai to sesshin, and building our library.

Feel free to reach out to Jizai at 401.500.5990 or [email protected] with any inquiries into our practice.

Jizai Don Sorterup has been practicing zazen meditation since 2015. He ‘entered the stream’ of Zen Buddhist study with the international Zen sangha, Hollow Bones in 2017 when taking Jukai or “lay” Buddhist vows. After engaging in their priest training program he was ordained in June of 2022. He subsequently founded the ZendoME Zen Buddhist Sangha in Damariscotta.
